Pointers needed for Gentlemens Pen

Anyone have any pointers or gotchas for the CSUSA Gentlemen's pens (rollerball and fountain)? I'm making a set for my brother and really don't want to screw these up. They are somewhat expensive.

I am thinking I will need the larger (3/4") barrel trimmer head, correct? And will need to make a trimmer shim for each size tube. I've done that patr before so I'm not really worried there.

Well, any suggestion would be great.

It's tricky using a barrel trimmer with the larger diameter barrel. You might want to look at using a sander. I use the trimmer but am very careful!
