I normally don't use Craft Supplies Americana kit but someone wanted one. After going to all the trouble of puting the pen together, I was frustrated that the brass inside the cap scratched the stupid black plastic parts. This pen is too popular for someone not to have had this problem, so, for the peace and tranquility of my home, please enlighten me! I've seen that Arizona S. has a chamfering tool, is this all I need to fix the problem? Please help me. </u>

The chamfering tool would be a wise choice. The edges of the tube may be rolled out enough to scratch the pen nib. I use this tool all the time. I also use a round file to remove any glue before putting the bushings on the blanks. This helps with the sharp brass edges as well.
