I am new to pen turning and did a few slimline kits and then thinking I needed a new challenge I bought some Plateau pen kits from Rockler. I have read the instructions that came with the kit but I am still confused as to how to turn the blanks.

Since no one else has stepped up I'll try to help. What is the issue you are having? The tenon for the center band?

Plateau Pen instructions

I agree with Mike, the instructions make my brain hurt.
does anyone have a simpler set of instructions?

This pen appears to be Rockler's version of the Penn State Classic pen.
The instructions for the Classic pen can be found here: http://www.pennstateind.com/library/PKPARK-G_ins.pdf

I didn't look close enough to see if all the dimensions are the same so I would only use the Penn State Classic instructions as another reference.

I believe it's also the same pen that Craft Supply sells as the Americana.
Instructions for that pen are at: http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/docs/apprentice_americana.pdf

Plateau Pen instructions

Thanks to all who replied.

Combining the best bits from each set of instructions created a readable set.

A lot simpler when not written in "technical-ese).
