Please don't laugh.

Has anyone tried to turn that 1" thick plastic sheeting that they use for bathroom partitions.
I've seen some realy cool pinks and black and white swirls.
I'm going to try it anyway but just want to check.

I deserved that.[:)]

The stuff looks real interesting, kind of a semi hard plastic.
Don't know how I would polish it but what the hell satin finish might be cool too.

No this stuff is a solid plastic sheet. I'm just afraid that it is to soft.
You can push your fingernail into the surface if you try hard enough.

Well today I cut some up into blanks, drilled them, and glued in the tubes.

It drilled real easy with long tails, I mean the stuff IS soft plastic. [:D]

I used CA and depending on what the wife is doing I may turn them tonight.

We shall see.

Cool. If you can still dent them with your fingernails, that may be bad. I wonder if a few coats of CA would give it a stronger shell?

I may try that because right now I don't have a clue on how to finish it.[:I]

I was hoping that just wax would work.
This stuff was melting from the heat of the table saw when I was ripping the strips,
actually it was melting when I cut it to length on the band saw too!

Well I got around to turning the blanks and they were just about impossible to get smooth. I got tool chatter, a satin finish, and you can't sand it. I waxed them, buffed them out, and mounted them is a cheep slimline pen. I'll post pictures after I take them.
