Use drill rod and 1/8 inch pins. The slot for the pin can be ground close to final depth with the tool grinder and finished with a flat file. Drill rod is available in all fraction and letter sizes and also in metric. Find one that is the same size as the tube ID or the closest one bigger and use sandpaper to make it smaller.

If you don't have an industrial supply where you live, then what you need can be found here:http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/N2DRVSH

Also, look at this.http://penmakersguild.com/articles/pinchuck.pdf

Good luck...they are not difficult to make....the depth of the slot must be the same as the diameter of the pin... 1/8". That is critical.

Do a good turn daily!

I buy my drill rod at Wholesale Tool. I think it's cheap, but then I haven't priced it at alot of places. http://www.wttool.com/category-exec/category_id/15713/nm/36_Drill_Rod/page_num/8
