I am new to turning and don't know if this is the correct place to post this question. If not, would the Mods please move it?

I want to make pepper mills for Christmas gifts. I know that there are certain procedures and forstner bits to use but I haven't a clue.

Can someone please point me to a turorial on pepper mill making?

Thanks, Joe

Joe,

Check the library for tutorial. Also try contacting Ed at Exotics. Sometime ago he sent a tutorial to those who asked.

Good luck

I have now posted the tutorial for peppermills here:
http://www.exoticblanks.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=71&Itemid=85
About two-thirds of the way down the page.

And they are written in easy to understand language. Good luck getting good forstner bits, I bought some of the woodcraft house brand and they are "OK" long way from great, but OK, I've heard that Colt makes about the best bits, kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for.
At least the Woodcraft bits are easy to sharpen, but you need a lathe with low speed and High torque, drill about 450 to 600 RPM.
