Very well done. I love the look . there are so many woods that would look terrific with that style. Give us the scoop on how you did this. Enquiring minds want to know.

Can't slip nothing buy you guys [:D]

The main pen body had a hole just large enough to hold the converter, drilled all the way till 1/4 inch from the end. Drilled another hole about 1/4 inch long to accept the brass tube. Cut the brass tube 1/4 inch and CA in. These messurements are not exact, I'm at the office with no messuring tools. Turned the pen body using a drill chuck since I don't have a Beal collet. The ebonite cumberland is sweet amterial to work with. That's it. I have seen several made this way, Vick had a nice mesquite one and there was a red bowling ball material done by ??

Chanks for askin [:p]
I used the mini pen mandrel that I purchased for making the CS pocket pen. I chucked that small mandrell in the chuck and slid the bushing for the statesmen on it and then snugged the tail stock.

For those closed barrels a pin chuck can also be used. Look at the bottom of this page:

http://www.fholder.com/Woodturning/tips.htm

It can be made from a bolt, aluminum rod, or even hardwood.

I wish I could take credit Anthony but I do not have anything nearly that nice as a pen like yours in mesquite. Or are you talking about another Vick
