I just recently started using woodchuck penpro and like it just fine. I plan on trying some trustone tomorrow. I've only used the R2 cutter. Will I notice a clear difference if I use the R4? I wanted to start with anew blade on the trustone
Thanks for the advice, john

I like the R4 when the design is a shallow flowing curve.

I would save the fresh edge for the finishing cuts and use a " more experienced cutting edge" for rounding and rough shaping.

I used the R2 when I first got my pen pro but soon changed to the R4 and I use it most of the time. I usually use a roughing gouge until I get my blank rounded and then switch to the Pen Pro and it leaves a surface that doesn't need much sanding if at all. If I need to sand any irregularities I use abronet 400 grit and then on to either a CA finish or for acrylics I use micro mesh and then the buffing wheels.
Your going to love the PEN PRO it's great.
