Pen parts stuck together

In my slimline kits the center band and bottom fitting are in the same little protective bag. Unfortunately in some of the kits I received, the center band is pressed onto the fitting and now I cant get them apart without wrecking the plating. Does anybody have an idea on how to pull them apart. I hope I explained this okay. Thanks for the help.

By bottom fitting, assume you mean the nib. If you do, I've seen that before but have never had any trouble getting them apart. Contact whoever you bought them from for replacements.

Might try to use a twist drill bit that will fit through the end of the nib. Put it in shank end first to avoid dimpling the end cap, then tap the cutting end onto something metal and see if the two pieces come apart. Shouldn't take much force.
