Pen disassembly tool

I hold the pen body with the left hand and knock out the nib and cap using PSI pen disassembly tool. It works fine. The twist mechanism is no problem as the tool supports the barrel. But after disassembling 3 pens my knuckles and wrist are hurting for the last few days. Old age perhaps.
Is there a better way to hold the barrels without damaging them i.e.in a padded vice/fixture etc? .

I am going to try a new way by using a screw. drill a hole in a piece of pine thread screw through hole into the twist mechanism and pulling it outwith my drill press, then I can knock the nib and the cap.
