What is the length of a Parker Refill supposed to be? I wanted to swap refills to a better refill, and the good ones are too short. The stick out far enough to write, but they just done look right.

I measured some from kits. Out of 4 refills, 2 are 4.885, and 2 are 4.875.

When I measure the upgraded refils, they are 4.863.

So, the upgrades dont look right in pens I have already made. What size should I make them too? Some kits dont adjust the length well. WHat do you do there?

If the refill is too short you may be able to use a parker style adapter. For example, I use pressurized Fisher space pen refills which come with a parker adapter. It slides onto the end making the length just right for exchanging it with kit inks. As far as other brands go there does seem to be quite a bit of variation for both BP and RB.
