Has anyone turned a pen out of parallam beam? Curious as to how to finish-sand and CA?

I did a "Standard" search for "oriented strand board" with "archives" checked.

Parallam turns and finishes the same as any wood pen. It takes a CA finish nicely. Be sure to get some cross cut pieces as they turn really interesting, actually they are better looking than the with grain ones. Guy on ebay can supply both. Nice stuff and even dyes good. Sharp tools at high speed does real good.

Here is some stuff I have done before (TS,17) its like paralam / osb type product. The problem with paralam is it will have large voids in it because of the strand type and process used to lay it up.

I wonder if you could stabilize it like burl?

Yes, it can be stabilized and this makes it quite interesting to turn.
