Anyways, Rich the pens are looking very nice, you done them well. Is the cap, or the "base", heavy enough that the pens rests safe on a desk?

I don't think that's the intent - of course you can knock it over. It is not overly heavy. But the base, at nearly .8" is quite stable. You don't have to carefully look for the balance point and tell people in the area to walk gently :)

If they made the base very heavy (remember, it's the pen body, not the cap) it wouldn't balance very well for writing, I think

Great looking pens Rich, I think I will like this one. If only I had time to turn some, they are allready getting dust on them in the shop
