Folks...

Like an earlier poster here, I'm making a pen using an artificial blank. In this case, it's celluloid (from CUSA).

I've seen some "talk" about certain paints coming off with certain glues, etc.

So...what's best to use in terms of paint and glue combination, so the brass tube doesn't show through?

TIA

I just use spray paint from Wal Mart. I let it dry overnight, probably not necessary, and have never had a problem. Spray some on a Q-tip and hit the inside of the blank too. I've also used Testors brush on model paint. CA,epoxy, I use both. Also rough up the tubes first with some sandpaper. Hang around for awhile,I'm sure somebody else will have a different but equally fine approach.

If you want to read more topics type "painting tubes" into the search function and you will get many answers from the search. I am in the process of turning some myself and am reading up on this subject. I hope that this helps.
