Somebody explain reverse painting. I do paint tubes from time to time but for some reason the term causes me brain farts. I don't know if I am reverse painting or not.
Ah that makes sense.......now what is the advantage of painting the blank over the tube. I have always roughed up the tube and put a coat of paint on it and went from there. As long as I let the paint dry overnight it works ok. I normally put two thin coats on so it just colors the tube.
I used to be real smart then I decided to make pens now I have to start all over again
With some blanks, you can see air voids in the glue below, even with painted tubes. So the solution for that is to paint the inside of the blanks (reverse paint) too. This keeps the glue from showing and by painting both you have double protection against the brass tubes showing through.
