painting tubes

I never been happy with painting tubes until now! I just finished sand the tube ( I do this so the paint + adhesive has a better gripping power.)

BUT i allowed myself to step outside the box for a brief second and saw that I could paint my tubes on the lath as their spinning and get a better out all application of the tube painted

Thats interesting... How do you get the tubes off the lathe w/o messing up the paint and/or tying up the lathe.

Will I went to get some coffee! small break time With it a uniformed thickness the pigment of the paint dries evenly and faster.

If you are painting the tubes are you first sanding them? Thanks
