Ok i was making a pen for a little boy that goes to church with me and the end of the acrylic chipped about an 1/8 from the end so I said no big deal. Instead of letting that be the bottom of the pen I will make it the top. Well in my haste I made it the bottom and now the ink sticks way out. Can I take it apart with out a kit. or do I need to get a kit

Thanks for all your advice.

You don't need the Punch kit. You can use a wood dowel or turn some scrap down to fit throughout the transmission to push the tip out. Then once the tip is out, use a bigger dowel/ scrap to push the transmission out.

Use a rubber mallet or even a block of wood to gently pound on the dowel. don't Try to pop it out in one hit, so don't use a hammer. Also Wrap the tube tightly with a paper towel or rubber gloves, it'll protect the blank and let you grip the tube better. Take your time, tap it out slowly and you shouldn't damage the tip or transmission.
