Who's idea was this anyway? All along I was thinking the cap end would have the larger size. Well anyway, I wasn't sure I liked this blank, now I know I don't like it!

That's a cutoff from a piece of Macassar Ebony.
The piece was 1/2" thick and 1-1/2" wide.
With some creative cutting and glue up I was able to get a round blank just over 3/4"
However, I needed the poly on the ends to get up to the .80"
But alas, it was the wrong end!

Well, here's a save that may turn out looking OK.
I cut it back about an inch and used a piece of aluminum and a piece of walnut via the side grain. It isn't polished up yet and I will need to do the other end to look alike.
Please don't hold back and tell me if I am wasting my time.
Thanks.
