Today I was making an Americana style pen. I started to assemble it but then noticed i forgot to put the trim ring on the writing tip.[B)] how can i get the writing tip off so i can assemble it correctly?

I would put a picture up but i cant get the size under 90kb

Easy to do. Use a rod that fits through the brass tube and then carefully wack the rod on the back with a mallet (thats what I use, others may use a hammer) and push the tip out. I have done this several times and it works fine. If you already assembled the connector (the part where the top part screws on, you need a rod the just fits through the hole of the connector.
The best tools for this type of dis-assembly are the transfer punches from Harbour Freight, can be had for about $10 or so for a large set with 1/64 stepping.

I did the same thing but it was NOT AT ALL easy for me to seperate them! I used an appropriate sized rod to bang it out, man was that hard!

Yeah, Sometimes those things fit tight! I had to knock the crud out of it, but I finally won!
