Hi all,
It was bound to happen, i,ve been fortunate enough not to encounter any problems with making pens for a while, until today. The problem began with some PR blanks I bought cheap recently. First a bit chipped off while cutting it to size, so i trimmed a bit more off and went with the comfort pen style. While drilling it I didn,t quite get it central so i,d be on the limit for turning it down. Then on the lathe i hit air bubbles and had to fill them with CA. After finishing the blanks it was time to assemble, disassemble then reassemble again. Im not that happy with the finished article as the rubber grip doesn't quite line up with the lower barrel. On the plus side, i don't like finishing on a bad not so i made a slimline that was trouble free and made in 15mins.
The lesson to be learned, don't buy cheap blanks no matter how nice the look.
