My daughter Grace (9) turned her first pen from start to finish today!! She used a Wall St II kit in Satin. The wood she chose is Zebra Wood. The finish is a BLO / CA finish she learned while watching William Young do it on You Tube. She gave it straight to her Grandma who is here visiting. She is all smiles and can't wait to turn her next one.

I might be fighting for lathe time!

Special thanks go out to Buzzzz4 and Jmhoff10500 for their generosity in getting her started

The pen looks nice but - with her holding it the beauty of the pen is overshadowed. Nice job with the pen and nice job teaching. HWH

Grace, you did a beautiful job! Very nicely done! I can't wait to see what else you turn out. It looks like you already have fit and finish down. I like the shape. And I'm sure you know how to melt dad for more lathe time .
