Well, I "made" my first one. It's actually a pencil kit and my assembly left a lot to be desired.
But, here it is on the lathe with a couple coats of CA. Didn't cut down to the bushings and that is real obvious after assembly. I can see I need LOTS more practice. Really unsure how tight to make the tail stock and how high to have the rest. Will be taking a class to get better feel for those.
Anyways, here is number 1

Nobody was born with the ability to make perfect pens from the get go, it's meant to be an enjoyable journey without a final destination. But I can assure you that you are starting your journey further along than many have. :biggrin:

Great start. Do not give that pen away. Put a tag with the date and type of wood on it. Put it in a safe place for future reference/comparison. I still have my first and today completed number 903. Will post a picture of number one and number one thousand side by side when the time comes. Also my nineth anniversary of pen turning was December 13.
