A non-penturning question

My son is in our high school band. I saw a display somewhere of some hand turned directors batons. I would like to try to make one for his teacher, or at least find out more about them. Does anyone have any information on this subject?

There is a guy here, RogerGarrett, who makes batons. Go to the member list, find his name and send him an email. I think he's the only person here who makes them.

Roger is a band director at a univerary in Illinois. He should know a thing or two about batons.
