Last week I posted a plea for help with my El Grande nib skipping. I rinsed out the filler tube and the nib assembly with cold water. Then, refilled the pen with a quality</u> brand of "French" fountain pen ink [offhand I can't remember the brand]. The pen writes smooth as silk without any skipping. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and helping hand. Much appreciated.

Yes, some nibs have a mind of their own as to what they want to write with. I have a Parker that "hates" Private Reserve and "loves" Quink. I am going to see if I can talk it into using Noodlers.
