The boardwalk that was destroyed was replaced about ten years ago. It is pressure treated wood. I do not know the value of it other then haz waste dump.

A lot of the boardwalks now Use IPE wood which in the board walk environment. Has about a 25year life span, it is also used for floors. Even if it isn't old and or original turned with the proper protection the treated wood would make a nice pen, even if only a display none user.

IPE wood turns pretty well but it is very dense. I have turned it several times. It really isn't anything special though at least I didn't think it was?

kinda spooky but my wifes cousin was on that very boardwalk last week.

timing is everything i guess, but on your subject i'm sure it wouldn't be hard for anyone that wanders down there.
