Not to be insensitive, but I wonder if anyone knows anyone that could salvage a board or two from the destroyed NJ boardwalk? Historical stuff like that...
The boardwalk that was destroyed was replaced about ten years ago. It is pressure treated wood. I do not know the value of it other then haz waste dump.
A lot of the boardwalks now Use IPE wood which in the board walk environment. Has about a 25year life span, it is also used for floors. Even if it isn't old and or original turned with the proper protection the treated wood would make a nice pen, even if only a display none user.
:clown:
IPE wood turns pretty well but it is very dense. I have turned it several times. It really isn't anything special though at least I didn't think it was?
