New Stylus

Just received an email for this new styled stylus.
It requires a battery and reportedly is more tablet friendly that the stylus on the market today.

Has anyone come across something like this stylus in kit form?

That stylus requires apps adopt their SDK (Software Development Kit)…here's a quote from their FAQ:

However any app that integrates our updated SDK will also be compatible

In other words, it won't work like you'd expect with everything else on the iPad/iPhone.

The touch screen grids on those devices are expecting a finger so they're fairly coarse (because fingers generally aren't tiny). That's why most styluses need you to smash the tips a bit (to make a big enough contact patch to simulate a finger.

Hopefully, the mantra that styluses are evil needs to be dropped so these devices can step up to their next (and obvious) level of functionality. One celebrity CEO's personal dislike of styluses is holding back a lot of progress.
