Thanks for the comments they are always welcome.
As for how I did this... I stacked the two wood blanks on top of each other and taped them together with clear packing tape. Then drew the wavy line down the almost middle. I then cut them on my scroll saw.
So I ended up with two outside dark pieces, and a light middle. And two outside light pieces, and a dark middle.
Glued them together and the rest is history.
I haven't turned the other one yet.
