Well a little while ago I bent my old 7mm mandrel. I was buffing a pen with a rag and let it get away from me. FLAP FLAP FLAP So I bought the new pennstate #1 Morse Taper Maxi-Mandrel PKM-ELC. Well I tried it out tonight and it worked great. The best thing is that the vibration is way down. I was turning on antler and almost had no vibration. The other good thing is that I have G8690 VS Wood Lathe and the back end of the spindle is covered so when the mandrel gets stuck I can’t tap it out. The spindle has a nut on it and the idea is that you turn the nut against the mandrel but the old mandrel is too small. The new mandrel has the collet and the spindle nut can be pushed against it. I like it for my lathe.
