Thought I would try something different. All blanks are Bloodwood and Maple veneer. First picture is 2 laminations, 1 on per side. I like the looks of this and thought if 2 is good 4 should be better. Composite photos are individual blanks rotated 90 degrees. They are turned between 1/2 - 5/8 dia. The smaller they get the better I like them.

The process is to cut a blank on the scroll saw and glue in a veneer strip. Let dry overnight and repeat. It takes 4 days to create 1 blank. Using Elmers white glue.

Do you like them or not?

If I was you I would not use wood like that. But I am not you so if you send them to me I will use them... Great job these are very unique. They are going to make great pens.

Just looked at the completed pens in the "SOYP" sub-forum, and to be honest.....I thought at first these would just be 'ordinary'. BUT, I was completely wrong. The 4 cut lamination and smaller diameter makes these 'POP'!!!!

The time it takes though.....little hard to do all that waiting? Then again, if you have enough laminations going on, it might blend time....

BTW, where in the world are you get those veneers? Look very thin, and very even(smooth)!

Glorious Blanks, Terry.
They have Blown me away, I can understand how you create the fine wavy lines, but I am puzzled with the large "Junctions" of Maple, where 4 arms converge.
I cannot see any join line. It looks so solid.
Brilliant.
On another Thread, I wrongly thought that you had used a Laser to cut the Blank, and the Maple Veneer Insert, as they were so Perfect.
Congratulations,
Brian.
