In my searches for stabilizing I found info on Nelsonite. It is used in the pool cue industry and sounds interesting. They use it by soaking for short periods and air drying.

Before everyone jumps in here on the Nelsonite, maybe Wayne S (wayneis) will give us his opinion on it. I know he has used it and has some opinions on it []. I think Wayne got his from Cuecomponents as well.

I would hate to see people spend their money if it was not worth it.

DON'T waste your money, it doesn't do anything except stink, at least for our needs. It is watery thin, and I let it soak for three days with no results. Someone else tried it here and said pretty much the same thing. Thats the long and short of it folks,

I will say though, ther (CuePomponents) has some geogeous wood, especially their Red Amboyna. Expensive, but really nice. In this case, you get what you pay for.
