Need Pencil to Match this Pen

A guy stopped by my booth at a show I was doing Saturday, and showed me the attached picture of a pen he has that he'd like a matching pencil for.

Two questions:

1) The wood looks like a sort of box elder that was diagonally sawn? Anyone have an opinion?

2) The pen kit looks sort of like a PSI Classic, but not exactly. Any idea what kit this is so I can see if I can find a matching pencil?

The kit looks like Berea's Flat Top American to me.

The pictures a little dark but Bob may be right about that kit. If so, Berea does have a mathing pencil kit.

The wood looks a little bit like ambrosia maple.

The wood looks to me to be X-cut Zebra or possibly X-cut Marblewood!
