I need a good source for some Koa/Acacia blanks. I assume Koa and Acacia are the same thing. Please let me know if they're not. Gotta make my wife a pen for Christmas and she mentioned a couple of months ago she liked the Koa wood. When trying to find a quality piece what do I need to look for?

Thanks,
Steve

Acacia is a genus of trees that includes the Mimosa (like you and I see in Alabama).

The Koa is a member of the Acacia genus, found primarily in Hawaii. Try Kalai on this site. There was some recently listed in the Business Classifieds.

Hi Steve, Koa is the Hawaiian Name for the variety of Acacia that grows in Hawaii, the scientific name is Acacia Koa, there are many different Acacia's that grow all over the world but Hawaii is the only place Koa grows and I have plenty, let me know if you need some, aloha.
