Need help

I have a kit from Berea that has 2 tubes. The tubes are the same diameter and they are different lengths.

Nowhere in the instructions does it tell me which tube is for the cap and which is for the barrel.

The assembly picture on the instruction page shows that both tubes are the same length. The picture of the finished pen is not sufficient to settle the issue in my mind.

The kit is BereaHardWoods Round Top European Style Screw Cap Roller Ball and Fountain Pen (Berea #41788/R-xxx)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am pretty sure that the longer tube is the bottom, the shorter is the top, but I'll wait for someone to confirm that!

Sounds like possibly you have a standard set of instructions but the "streamlined" kit. See if these instructions don't fit your kit better: http://www.beartoothwoods.com/faq/RTEuroStreamlined.pdf

It's not just the length of the barrels that different, but the screw finial (for posting) of the lower barrel is substantially different as well to make up for the different length barrel.
