Can the Navigator rollerball from Woodcraft be disassembled without damaging the parts?

I need to take it apart to rework the finish.

I have a set of HF transfer punches, but need to know the sequence if it can be done.

TIA
Jake

Navigator = Baron = Sedona for parts and fit

Yes -- if you have a set of transfer punches it is pretty straight forward. You may need to use some thread locking compound (loctite or similar) when reassembly time comes.

Cap -- knock the end out then the coupler.

Remove all the loose pieces. Take out the nib coupler then the center coupler

Thanks for the response, I'll give it a shot this evening.

Got it

Got it apart with no apparent damage, repaired the finish and reassembled.

I now understand the pliers with the rubber jaws to hold a pen during disassembly, my hands still sting

I've done this on occasion, and I use a piece of foam padding. Many gentle hits are preferred to hit strong hits. Hold the pieces over a soft "landing zone".
