I think Mexico has Mesquite, Greece Olive and Afghanistan has poppies but no trees by all the pictures of the war zone. Naturally I could be mistaken having never been to any of these places.

Arbutus and Quercus Ilex are found mostly in Mediterranean regions. I have some of the Oak and may be able to get some of the Strawberry Tree from members through our woodturning guild if you are looking for some.

Afghanistan has been in conflict for so long, the stocks of inoperative AK-47s would probably count as a native wood by now

Mexican Alder is quite beautiful. I just made Gandalf the Greys staff with a lighted crystal for a mate of mine also it holds its beautifull bark.

Kind regards Peter.
