Ok so I was thinking about this the other day. There is a couple vendors here that sell cast burls or wood cast in resin. If I wanted to cast a burl cap with resin. What could I call it and not get in trouble. I know Amalagan mutt is trademarked. What about worthless wood? Burls and swirls? Or do I have to come up with a name all of my own?

Hi James: People pretty much know what the term "worthless wood" means. So if you were going to market your own take on these types of blanks you could call them say, "Ultrawood" for example, and advertise that its your unique approach to worthless wood. Once the name had gotten around, people would know its your product and what it was without addtional explanation.

I agree with Don. Curtis paved the way of worthless wood and I wouldn't sell anything under that name or even use it in a product description. I think you'd need to seperate from the rest to be remembered. What that name could be is up to you though!
