I had a mystery wood (for me) identified by some experienced people on here as being myrtle or laurel. I liked the wood, even tho you have to baby it.
But I can't seem to find a source for reasonable figured blanks or burl or lumber of either myrtle or laurel. I really would like to acquire some more. Especially if it has old age bug paths through it. (You know the kind where the paths were filled in again with wood as the tree continued to grow. Or they filled with bug leavings.)
I checked various places on the web, but I was not successful in my search. Here in Alabama, I don't think they have much of either.
So if anybody has better knowledge than I of how I may acquire some lumber, burls or blanks of either or both, please let me know.
