I made a decal pen for my friend that runs a local hobby shop where I buy all my R/C stuff. Its a pocket tool pen kit from Woodcraft. Dont remember the wood but some reddish colored blank I had laying around.
I'm not liking that you can still see the decal. Need some feedback on that.
I used some Deft spray lacquer that I had around my shop to seal the ink on the decal. The can was near empty and probably almost a year old or more. It is also semi gloss, not high gloss.
All in all, not too bad for the first one.
I know the photos are not THAT good. I used my phone and its flash on the kitchen table.

Looks super.I also did not see it until you mentioned it.Not sure it was the lacquer or the decal but I have done a few decal pens but they were wet transfer(think model cars)decals.Apply and let dry over night the used 8-10 coats of thin ca over it then polish.

One tip I remember from when I was putting together model race cars oh those many years ago was to trim the clear part of the decal as close as you could to the colored part of the decal. That way you eliminate a lot of the clear part being available to be shown.
