I was wondering if anyone has tried Moose antler? Is it the same as deer?
the piece that I received is aged and has some cracks. would it be best to put CA in the cracks?
Any tips would be appreciated.

Moose and whitetail deer are related so the antler should be similar. Depending on how aged you might want to treat differently. I recently turned a piece of very old antler but soaked it in water for a couple weeks first. Made it less brittle and produced less dust. Forget how I finished it. That could be a personal choice. If cracks are not too large you might just leave them for the natural effect. On knife handles just treating with neatsfoot oil or mineral oil is all that is needed. For pens you might not want the dirt attractant of oils, but then you also forego a natural patina from handling.

Moose turns very well. We like to use the points out at the end of the antler. They are usually solid.
