My club is doing a turning demo and I'm looking for ideas on making portable and sturdy mini lathe stands. Anyone have any ideas or plans?
Thanks!

Bonnie Klein uses a mobile stand for a contractors saw with a top made from a walmart shopping cart. That holds her Jet 1014 and the holes in the top let the chips fall through.

Her saw cart was (as I remember) one for the bosch contractors saw - which is one of the more fancy ones, but has great wheels. Cart folds down and wheels away with the lathe attached -- one package.

I recycled the base from an old gas grill. Made a top by edge-gluing together several lengths of 2x6 pine.

Just couldn't bring myself to throw it away - I knew that it had to have a useful second life.
