Is it me or is it the kit?

I am using the PKXMGM gun metal kit from Penn State and am using the 7mm carbon fiber blank, also from Penn State.

The problem is when I am assembling the pen.

Before I try to assemble the pen I ream out the ends of the blank using the bullet casing reamer that Arizona Silhouette sells.

The force required to press the end cap into the blank is so great that every time (4 times) I do it the plastic cracks!

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I doing something wrong?

I havent used there kits, but I have had problems in the past with this. I now make sure I have all of any resin or glue inside the tube, cleaned, and I also take a pair of scissors, insert one tip in the tube and scrape the brass, shaving it a bit smaller before I press. This has helped me. good luck!
