Picked up this little charmer a few weeks ago. Any suggestion on how to cut it up would be much appreciated

Dimensions are 6 x 8 x 3

Are you wanting a bowl blank or pen blanks?

Pens

The 3 inch thickness gives me some options for shallow platters but I am thinking more along the lines of pens

If it is mine, I will cut two layers of blanks (2 ea - 7/8" x 3" x 6") at the spalted end and leave the rest (roughly 6 x 6 x 3) for a bigger project.

That's a great idea. Maybe use the 6 x 6 and make some veneer for small box lids.
