Maple burl blue dye test subject

I tried turned this pen and tried to dye it with blue analine dye and then tried some royal blue acrylic. The wood was resistent to both dyes but I also fogot I satbilized this blank in poly last month. I am new to the dying thing and I wanted to post this just as an FYI to anybody else in the same position. I am going to keep trying though!
