There are a few who posted pens they've made out of mammoth ivory...very expensive stuff!!! [:0]

In the knifemaking world, the "blue" ones are even more expensive.

You may have missed their:

Due to the eventual cracking in the ivory of several of our ivory pens, we have discontinued Mammoth Ivory from our regular selection. We now only use ivory in accents and inlays on our pens.

Cracking is a significant problem for elephant ivory also, as well as bone. Antler is about the only thing related that doesn't have that problem.

I have made several. It can and will crack unless you take steps to avoid it, even then sometimes, it must go to the new owner with a very clear DISCLAIMER and a full understanding of the above.
