Any ideas on where this type blank might be available? I've looked around the normal resources, as well as googled, but not coming up with anything.

Thanks for any direction!

Still digging to find

Arizona Silhouette has lots of Boxelder burl colors, but not in Buckeye.
William Woodrite has Boxelder in black/gold, but not in Buckeye. Closest yet.
Woodturningz has Buckeye burl, but not dyed.
Laserlinez.com has four dyed Buckeye burl colors, but no stock, and not in black/gold.

Craft Supplies (woodturnerscatalog.com) has Buckeye Burl in six dyed colors, but not in black/gold (yellow).

Thank you for your suggestions!

Anywhere else you can think of?

Bruce...

You may have to settle for the boxelder burl. I don't think I have ever seen double dyed (i.e., two colour) buckeye blanks, only boxelder.

The stabilized buckeye at William Wood-Write Ltd. (William Wood-Write) does look more black and gold than normal. I'm not sure if they are dyed. The premium blanks that are individually photographed are really nice.

Mystery solved - it IS Boxelder burl

Wade, you're correct! I just confirmed with the original source of my interest through email that his Boxelder blanks had been mis-labeled by the seller as Buckeye. Hah!

Bob, you are correct that Arizona Silhouette has the BOXELDER burl in gold/black.

Two other sources for Boxelder in gold/black are William Woodrite, and PSI.

Thanks for your collective input to help solve the mystery!

I just got some from exoticblanks.com. They were down to only the 1 inch stuff, but since I planned on it going on big pens, it wasn't a problem.
