I have an number of the orginal woodworkers pencil and I have an idea on a interesting mod for one or two, but I need a 10mm hole that is 6 inchs long.

Where would I find such a rare animal?
I have tried searching a number of places and have asked at the shop where I get my saw blades sharpened. no go.

Adam...10 mm Long bits are rare and expensive. MSC has one that is 184 mm long (about 7.2") P/N 78553054 for $21.43 ea. It is a HSS 135 Deg Split point Parabolic

10 mm = 0.3937

X drill = 0.3970 or about .003 larger.
MSC P/N 71005243 for $24.94 -- HSS 135 Deg Split point 12" long

25/64 = 0.3906 or about .003 smaller
MSC P/N 71003255 for $21.14 -- HSS 135 Deg Split poing 12" long.

Which ever way you decide to go they are not cheap. There may be other sources but I'm sure pricing will be about the same. If you could us a 6" long bit in 25/64 you could look at P/N 01000256 for $8.50. They are much more available as you can tell by the price.

Good luck!
