Lignum Vitae?

I've bought a few LV blanks, and they are a beautiful green color. I haven't turned them yet, but I notice all the LV pens I see here are not green when complete.... is it common for the green wood to change color when we turn it, or is it like cherry (light at first then dark when aged)?

It is usually a very nice tan color until it oxidizes or gets lots of sun. I don't think it will ever be "green" with a finish on it. Vera wood (sometimes called Argenine LV) can be quite green when exposed to the sun.

Careful of this wood because it likes to crack in certain conditions.

I was given some LV that a friend picked up as a FENCE POST! He said that an acquaintance gets it all the time this way [:0]

I just turned one and is in SOYP.. The blank had a lot of green in it. As I turned only very light green was left....

Very nice wood...

I got several pieces from BigRob, green when it came and green when it turned. I really like it when there is both beige and green in the wood. I love working with it!
