The M3 Lava cuts awesome with sharp chisels and have no problems with tapping the threads. It cuts easier than the M3 Metals (IMO). For acrylic Acetate compared Lava, definitely a difference but if you don't have any problems with AA you shouldn't have it with the Lava. The Mokume Gane lava blanks cut easier than the M3 Metal Mokume Gane counter parts.

Which are:
Black Lava
Red Lava
Black Lava & Gold Bronze
Black Lava & White Aluminum
Black Lava & Red Copper
Black Lava & Cobaltium
Red Lava & Gold Bronze
Red Lava & Blue Bronze

There are a few others but just can't think of them off the top of my head.

I have turned quite a few of those and I have not had any problems with chipping, cracking, or blowout. I wish I could say the same for the mica pearl blanks they carry.

I looked at those too but I was kind of afraid of them. Sounds like I made a good choice. Thanks for the replys. Ted:)
