I am sure this has been answered many times before. Pleae forgive me for throwing it out again.

I have a customer that want a number of similar pens. He is going to laser engrave the pens with his company logo for his employees.

I plan on using a CA finish.

Should I completely finish the pens before he does the laser engraving?

Or, should I turn and sand, let him do the laser work, then apply the CA finish?

We will be using Curly Maple for the pens.

Thank you.

I completely finished my pen with CA finish prior to laser engraving and it came out great. The finish also helps prevent bleeding around the edge of the engravings if you use colorfill.

I do engraving. I have yet to do a color fill other than the simplest of items, but all the ones I do are already finished. It's a bit easier if they are not already assembled, but it is still possible.
