Laminated Blanks

I've been given some laminated rifle stock to turn for pens that will match the completed rifle. Is there any tips, tricks I should know? The first few I tried split while being turned - I was able to cut and drill and start the turning, but when I was about 2/3 completed, the laminate came apart.
Any suggestions will be appreciated

saturate it with thin CA as you are turning, should hold it together a little better for ya!
